The use of Bio-Diesel reduces greenhouse gases and air pollutants. Biodiesel is a safe, renewable fuel processed from plant based oils and operates in unmodified diesel equipment. Bio-Diesel provides dramatic reductions of these emissions which makes our air cleaner to breath. Because Bio-Diesel is a renewable fuel source, it reduces greenhouse gas emissions which helps address climate change.
CVS Cruise Victoria has been using Bio-Diesel since day one and proud to say our coaches are now powered by 100% bio-fuels.
We were the first major bus Company on Vancouver Island to move to B20 Bio-Diesel, and in August 2007, upgraded to B50-50 percent bio-diesel.
Bio-Diesel offers significant reductions in engine emissions, some of which by as much as 50%. B100 represents pure Bio-Diesel and in this form it is a safe, non-toxic, bio-degradeable plant based fuel.
Our suppliers warrant that the fuel we use meets the ASTM D6751 standards set for fuel quality. Common feedstocks for our Bio-Diesel include Soybean oil and Canola oil. Use of Bio-Diesel reduces Carbon Dioxide, unburned Hydrocarbons ( smog and ozone), Carbon Monoxide, Particulate Matter, Sulphur emissions, and Nitrated PAH ’s.
Bio-Diesel is 10X less toxic then common table salt. Bio-Diesel bio-degrades about four (4) times faster than petroleum diesel.
